FLOYD’S STORY

The dream of opening my own bar came true in July of 2004. Floyd’s Pub was the culmination of many years of hard work and luck. While in college at the University of Colorado (GO BUFFS!) I studied marketing, but what I really studied was going out to bars. I loved it!! I kept thinking it would be great to own one someday. After several years of working at every type of restaurant, I saved enough money and purchased Floyd’s. Though it was a gamble, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Since then I have strived to make Floyd’s one of the best neighborhood bars in Chicago.

Our menu is one of the things that sets us apart from all the other standard bars. We care about food. We don’t use frozen beef for our burgers nor do we use frozen potatoes for our fries. Everything is made from scratch. Our fries are hand cut and fried fresh per order. All of our meat is delivered fresh by local butchers and our produce is delivered fresh on a daily basis. Floyd’s only uses artisan handmade bread as well. We care about what you eat! The meatloaf is one of our most popular items and on Wednesday’s a full pound order with mashed potatoes and gravy is only $8. For all you late night diners, we keep our kitchen open until midnight every night. We really do care about our customers.

While going out to bars every night in my 20’s I noticed something, it is difficult to find good food and a fun place to drink all in one package. At Floyd’s we are changing that. We offer great, fresh food at affordable prices and after you eat, you can let your hair down and party a little. Our jukebox has lots of classic rock, blues, hip-hop, and punk so you always hear great tunes and can even have a dance party if the mood strikes. Floyd’s also has tables outside for great al fresco dining or just having a cocktail with friends. Feel free to bring your four legged friends to out patio as well. We always keep our dog bowls stocked with clean water. We carry interesting wines from South America and Europe, yet our price per glass is never in the double digits. Although we are not a typical sports bar, we do have 5 LCD TV’s making our establishment a great place to catch all the games. Floyd’s has all the local games and we carry the NFL and College Football Packages. We still yell loudest for our hometown Chicago Bears!!! Our backroom offers Golden Tee and an electronic dart board for those nights when you feel like challenging your friends. We want you to feel comfortable at Floyd’s and enjoy the time you spend with us. So stop on by and have a few.
